Pedestrian Struck by Car Leaving Lawrence Shopping Mall

During the rush of holiday shopping, a Flemington man was hit by a car near Quaker Bridge Mall. Fortunately, the man is currently recuperating from minor injuries. The question remains: who was the driver and was he or she negligent in causing the accident?

The aforementioned pedestrian accident occurred on Wednesday, December 23rd, as Flemington resident James Doolan and his wife Denise were crossing the road in the vicinity of Sear’s Auto Center and Quaker Bridge Mall in Lawrence Township. The couple had just finished their Christmas shopping at the mall and were walking to their car prior to the collision.

According to Denise Doolan, the car “came out of nowhere with no lights on,” and struck her husband. The identity of the driver and his or her fate following the accident remain unknown. Mr. Doolan, on the other hand, is reportedly recovering at his home in Flemington after receiving medical treatment.

Police have yet to release any information pertaining to the accident as of this report; however, an investigation is likely underway to determine the circumstances that preceded the accident, the driver involved, and his or her liability for the crash. All-too-often, driver negligence such as distracted driving, driving under the influence, reckless driving, or careless driving, contribute to accidents that leave seriously injured victims.

The victims of these accidents can suffer physical, as well as psychological harm, with collateral consequences that significantly impair their ability to live, work, and conduct their daily activities. When these incidents do happen, those responsible can be held accountable through legal action. At Cohen & Riechelson, our personal injury team is dedicated to obtaining victims the compensation they deserve.
