West Windsor NJ Authorities Investigate Fatal Train Accident near Princeton Junction Station

An individual was killed after being struck by a New Jersey Transit train that was passing by the Princeton Junction train station in Princeton Junction, NJ. Princeton Junction is an unincorporated community located within the boundaries of West Windsor Township, NJ.

The tragic train accident happened around 10:00 p.m. The train, running on the Northeast Corridor Line, was on its way from Trenton to New York Penn Station when the fatal accident occurred.

Thankfully, nobody on board the NJ Transit train was injured as a result of the serious accident. At the time of the train collision with the victim, there were roughly 500 passengers and crew members travelling on the train.

Amtrak police is spearheading the investigation into the fatal accident. At this time, investigators have not released any details about what might have caused the crash.

Shortly after the accident, NJ Transit posted an alert on its official website to let the public know that train service had been temporarily suspended between Trenton Transit Center and New Brunswick, New Jersey. Service was resumed a short time later.

In its alert about the accident, NJ Transit stated that the train crash was caused by a “trespasser.” Depending on the findings of official investigators, this could have a significant impact on any potential personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit filed by family members of the victim.
