A single-vehicle car accident in Mercer County Park resulted in the tragic death of a Lawrence NJ man.

The fatal car crash went down a short time after 8:00 p.m. in West Windsor, New Jersey. The victim was reportedly driving his red 2013 Mercedes Benz GL 400 along New Road and headed south when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The car reportedly went off the roadway, moved through a picnic area at Mercer County Park, and eventually came to a stop after crashing into a tree.

The force of the collision caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle and catastrophic injuries to the driver. When law enforcement and emergency medical responders arrived at the scene of the crash, they found the driver unconscious behind the wheel of the SUV.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors tried valiantly to save her life. Tragically, doctors were unable to do anything to help the victim; she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the medical facility.

The driver was the only person in the motor vehicle at the time of the accident; there were no passengers.

The West Windsor Township Police Department traffic bureau is actively investigating the fatal car accident. At this time, investigators have not yet determined what caused the single-car crash at Mercer County Park. West Windsor detectives have asked that anyone who witnessed the accident get in touch with police at 609-799-1222.

Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, the family members of the victim may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the manufacturer of the vehicle. For instance, if the fatal car crash was caused by a vehicle defect, the auto manufacturer could be liable to damages in a wrongful death lawsuit.
