Police recently arrested a Trenton NJ man accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and causing significant physical injuries.

The domestic violence incident occurred at the victim’s residence in Trenton, New Jersey. The suspect allegedly forced his way inside the home and began to argue with the victim. At some point, the verbal altercation became physical, with the suspect allegedly using a closed fist to strike the female victim across the side of her head.

Someone else as the residence subsequently dialed 911 and alerted the Trenton Police Department. Police officers and emergency medical crews were then dispatched to the scene. Emergency medical responders briefly treated the victim at the residence before transporting her to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton NJ, where she received additional medical treatment for a ruptured eardrum. Her condition was later said to be stable.

Meanwhile, detectives with the Trenton Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office investigated the alleged domestic violence incident and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. The next morning, Trenton NJ cops located the suspect walking near the intersection of North Broad Street and East State Street and placed him under arrest.

The suspect, a 22-year-old resident of Trenton, has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the alleged attack against his ex-girlfriend.

The suspect already faced simple assault charges for an incident occurring in Trenton NJ on April 20, 2016. According to law enforcement, the suspect attacked the same female victim during an altercation at their residence. The victim reportedly sustained injuries to her arm and hand after the suspect punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground.
